Stanford vs. California Football Game tooltip

The Big Game was first held in 1892 and is the biggest sporting event each year in the Bay area. Its most famous moment was The Play in 1982, when Cal used multiple laterals to return the kickoff for a touchdown on the game’s final play for a 25-20 victory. Cal’s Kevin Moen ran in the touchdown through the Stanford band, who had stormed the field prematurely to celebrate their presumed victory.
