The new park, opened for the 2009 season at a cost of $1.5 billion, already boasts a glut of nicknames: The Stadium, The Big Ballpark in the Bronx, The House That Jeter Built, The New House, New Yankee Stadium.

Whatever you call it, Yankee Stadium retains its character as a hallowed hall, a field destined for greatness, and one that is steeped in the traditions of the old park just across the street.

Located in the Bronx at East 161^st and River, the park is easily accessible from Manhattan or any of the other boroughs. From the city, you ride the 4 out, and the anticipation builds with every stop – practically everyone on board is going to the game, so people in the train car percolate as they get closer and closer to the action.

The exterior of the park is made from 11,000 pieces of Indiana limestone, which mirrors the façade of the House that Ruth Built.
