Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears Football Game at Lambeau Field

Catching a Packers game at Lambeau Field is a rite of passage for the people of Wisconsin. Most of the state lives and dies with the team for at least sixteen Sundays during late summer and fall, if not the entire year, and passing through the gates of Lambeau far surpasses any parables of Moses and the promised land. It is the be all, the end all.

When the Chicago Bears, the Packers divisional partners and long time rivals, come to town, the air gets thick with the severity of the situation. Since their first meeting in 1921, these two teams have clashed some 180 times. They are two of the oldest teams in the NFL and have 21 Championships and four Super Bowls between them.

Lambeau, known by towns’ folk and those who have played a winter game there as the Frozen Tundra, was built in 1957 as the league’s first football-only stadium. Since Vince Lombardi and the original greats of football, the Field has solidified its sacred status many times over.
