Big Blue Madness at University of Kentucky

In mid-October in sleepy college towns across the nation, a veil is lifted and a monster awakens.

The NCAA permits college hoops teams to begin practicing on a specified day (usually around October 16^th), and on the basketball-crazed campus at the University of Kentucky practice starts early. Very early.

Kentucky Wildcats fans are known in college basketball as the Big Blue Mist or the Big Blue Nation – the former because they have a habit of engulfing away games and tournament showings in Wildcat Blue.

Wildcats fans are also known for popularizing Midnight Madness on college campuses - officially promoting the celebration of the first NCAA-sanctioned b-ball practice as a school event with entertainment and student attendance that nearly fills the 23,500 seat Rupp Arena.

Fans of one of the best in college basketball have much to be excited about, and Big Blue Madness is pandemonium at its best.
