Keeneland Race Course

Located just outside of Lexington, Kentucky, set amidst the rolling hills of the bluegrass state’s horse country is Keeneland, the marketplace, reference library, and nexus of horseracing on the American continent.

An idyllic and iconic property, Keeneland was established in 1935 and has woven itself into the fabric of American Horseracing. The track hosts several races per year, the most notable being the Kentucky Derby prep the Blue Grass Stakes. The fall also sees action in the form of several Breeders’ Cup preps as well.

Keeneland is a place of tradition. Having been placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1986, the facilities are impeccably kept and retain much of the original charm, helping the facility to win the shoot for most of the racing scenes in the 2003 classic Seabiscuit.

Of equal import and prominence at Keeneland is the sales operation. Its four annual auctions attract both national and international buyers, leveraging industry prowess throughout the world and political influence in Kentucky.
