College football teams have headed to south Florida over New Year’s weekend since 1935 to play in the Orange Bowl. Its place as one of the most prestigious post-season bowl games was cemented in 1998 when it was included in the BCS as one of college football’s top four bowl games. It is also famous for its elaborate halftime shows.
Named in honor of Steve Prefontaine, the legendary University or Oregon distance runner who was killed in a car accident in 1974, this meet brings many of the world’s top track stars to Oregon’s famous Hayward Field.
