The first Major League All Star Game was played on July 6, 1933 at Comiskey Park in Chicago.
In 2008, New York City hosted a historic final All Star Game before the destruction of Yankee Stadium.
In 1985, Major League Baseball introduced the very popular Home Run Derby.
In 1957, fans of the Cincinnati Reds stuffed the ballot box and elected 7 Reds players to start in the All-Star Game. Fans were then stripped of their voting rights until 1970.
The winning league receives home field advantage in the World Series.
The host city alternates between a National League park, and an American League park. This rule has been in place from the beginning, but has been broken twice, 1951 & 2007.
There have been two ties in the history of the game, 1961 and 2002.
