For years, college football teams slogged it out on the playing field, game after game, in the hopes of weaving together that perfect, undefeated season, and of doing so with the swagger, class, and MVP caliber players that would ultimately convince the powers that be to vote in their favor for their bid to return to their campus heroes, by taking the rare, elusive, and ill-defined National Championship trophy.
