When the AVP Tour announced last week that it was cancelling the rest of its season for financial reasons, the immediate thought was: What about Manhattan? The crown jewel, the "Granddaddy" of beach volleyball couldn't be cancelled, particularly as it was ready to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Well, the good -- no great -- news is that the city of Manhattan stepped up and the tourney will go on.
