The Ultimate Sports Cities!
We just introduced The Ultimate Sports Cities, those 30 US cities that have hosted the best combination of TUSL.com events. See the complete list on our new Cities Page.
- The Top 5 cities are: Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Chicago and Dallas.
- Some other interesting tidbits about the 30 cities on the list.
- Louisville, KY is the only city on the list that does not have a professional sports team.
- Portland, OR was the first US city to host The Stanley Cup Final, in 1916.
- New Orleans is the smallest city on the list (50th largest MSA) and the smallest city to host The Super Bowl.
- Dallas hosted -- for the first time -- three top events in the past 6 months: The American League Championship Series (#37), The World Series (#8), and The Super Bowl (#3).
- Los Angeles is the only city in the world to have hosted world's top three sporting events: The Summer Olympics, The FIFA World Cup Final, and The Super Bowl. Of the 14 top 25 events they could have hosted (11 are permanently hosted in places other than LA), they have hosted 11, missing only The Winter Olympics (#6), The Rugby World Cup (#19), and The IAAF World Championships in Athletics (#21).
